Attaining a visa and all of the paperwork that goes into a year abroad is no piece of cake, let me tell you. And it's especially saddening that I put an entire day into doing paperwork that turned out to no longer be the valid way to do it. Recently, Peru has changed a lot of it's laws; especially dealing with minors. That has made it a little difficult for me to keep up with getting in the right paperwork so I can legally get in and out of Peru.
I had an amazing opportunity to go to Costa Rica on June 16-25. All of my paperwork was due to the travel agent on June 16, so when did I do it all? June 15.
I went back and forth between my house and the post office and Wolf Lake, to make sure everything that needed to got signed and notarized. My best friend, Harley, was there with me the whole time since we were supposed to spend the day together. Which we did- except a lot more time than expected was spent on paperwork. It was still fun of course, though.
I got everything that needed to be done finished. My mom had it post-marked and mailed the next day. Only thing was, it was all the wrong stuff. None of the travel agents knew this, and I didn't figure it out until last weekend. It's all taken care of now- it is just unfortunate that I had to take a whole day to get it all finished.
