As a going away gift and remembrance, my best friend Harley hired a talented photographer and great friend of ours, Sidney, to take pictures of her, myself, and our good friend Cat. While I am leaving on exchange, Cat is leaving to go to the Indiana Academy connected to Ball State University. It’s a prestigious public school that she got accepted to, and has been dreaming of being able to go to for years; as I have dreamed of being and exchange student for years.
We are the Three Musketeers. The blonde, the brunette, and the redhead. Three peas. And 2 of us are leaving. We did this photo shoot not just for fun, but to remember each other and appreciate the value of our friendship. The shoot was so much fun, and Sidney did an amazing job taking pictures for us. I definitely recommend her if you’re looking to get photos done!
First we went around downtown Columbia City, then to the Sunken Gardens in Huntington, and downtown Huntington. We had a couple dress changes in between that also made it fun.
But our photoshoot took a turn on the way home… literally. Cat was the driver for the day, in her bug that had just gotten fixed recently. This was her second time taking it out since it had been repaired. But while in downtown Huntington on our way home, it broke down. While Cat steered, the other 3 of us pushed into a nearby parking lot. Unfortunately, the parking lot was private property of an apartment complex, and a resident who watched this all go on was not too pleased with how we pushed the car into that parking lot. After we were rudely approached by the resident to leave, they called the police. The police officer who came was very nice to us, and frankly annoyed that the resident had such an issue with four 16-year old girls trying to figure out what to do with this broken down car. The police officer helped us immensely, and we were able to get it to a safe spot away from the parking lot. It only took Cat’s mom to steer it and what looked like the entire Huntington police department to get it to another spot… after such an experience, we went home safe and soundly. That is an incredibly condensed version of everything that happened… I said my goodbyes to Sidney and Cat, because I won’t have another chance to see them before I leave. While the strangest things tend to happen to us, we have the most interesting stories to tell.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the photo shoot!
