Larcomar and Day with Friends

A great day was spent with some great friends! I've been out of school for the last week on break, and have been spending most of my time at home, so it was really fun to get out and have a girls day!

I went out with my friends Claudia and Kate to a beachfront outdoor shopping mall that hangs over a cliff called Larcomar. It's in the very beautiful and upscale district of Miraflores. Kate is another exchange student from the states that I go to school with, and Claudia is another friend of ours from school. She lived in Texas for 2 years, so she lets us cheat some and talk in English because she's very fluent.

When I first got there, it was just me and Kate. We both had a lot of stuff to catch each other up on, so we talked for about an hour until Claudia arrived. We continued to chat some until we decided to finally start walking around and find something to eat. There were many things to choose from, especially for an ice cream lover like myself. Everything was also expensive, at least by Peruvian standards, so it took a while to decide. We each got a little cupcake at a little cupcake shop- which were very tasty! I got the carrot cake one because I hadn't had carrot cake in a long time. As for ice cream, I got a flavor that tasted like cheesecake (I'm not totally sure what it was), and strawberry. The treats were very satisfying.

While we were snacking, we walked around and went into some stores. We never spent very much time in them because we didn't have the money to go shopping for clothes. Nonetheless, we had a great time!

We decided to walk back to Kate's house since it was close by, and McDonald's is also close to her house. We took the nice walk back through all of the parks. Everything is on top of the cliff that overlooks the beach, so it was a beautiful walk. It was also just a beautiful day in general and the sun was out, so we took many pictures...

After getting into town and walking for a while, we got to McDonald's. I was so excited. This was going to be my first time having real American food (ok, fast food) in 3 months. I got a cheeseburger, French fries, ice cream cone, and an Inca Kola... which is Peruvian, and I'm not going to lie it was strange having it with a cheeseburger. I savored that cheeseburger like nothing else. It was so good. It wasn't a genuine McDonald's cheeseburger and looked way too nice to be a McDonald's cheeseburger, but it tasted almost just the same. We spent a while at McDonald's while we our food and enjoyed each other's company until we headed back to Kate's house.

Once we got to Kate's house, we just hung out in her garage for the most part. They have their garage set up all nice like an actual room in their house. We talked about boys, played some card games, it was a great time. We taught Claudia how to play Egyptian Rat Screw and BS, which I haven't played since being here. It was a lot of fun! After hanging out for a while though, it was finally time for me to go home... Even though it ended far too fast, I had a great and very needed girls day.

Oh Fudge

Except I wasn't thinking fudge. In 24 hours I will be boarding a plane to go home. How will I pass these next 24 hours? The end is here....
