Goodbye to my German pals

Of all of the goodbyes I've made in the last month, this was probably the hardest, because it would be my last time seeing many, many people. All of the Germans left together on the same to go back to Germany, which means I had to say goodbye to two of my friends: Kata and Lukas. I didn't get close to either of them until towards the end of exchange, but they both came very dear to my heart very quickly. Not knowing when I'll see them again (I never know when I'll see anyone again, but it's easier to see my American friends than ones from other countries), watching them go wasn't fun... Especially with all of the other exchange students leaving with them, there was 10 of them who all left together.

I'll give a little history on my friends...

I was always cool with Kata because she was friends with Taylor, but she became a very close friend of mine when I switched host families in March and moved to a different house. She was about the only exchange student I knew of who lived really close to me, so we were able to hang out and see each other all the time. She also became really close with a Peruvian friend of mine, Claudia.

I suppose I could say Lukas has been my friend since the beginning of exchange. We were the only two exchange students from our Rotary club, so we always saw each other. We didn't become close friends until we had to switch host families. We had to learn how to share between visiting each other's host families and also having similar groups of friends, so he became like my little brother.

I had so many opportunities to get to know many of the other Germans as well who I'm sure I'll see again someday. As they say, it's not goodbye, but see you soon.

Oh Fudge

Except I wasn't thinking fudge. In 24 hours I will be boarding a plane to go home. How will I pass these next 24 hours? The end is here....
